A Message from Rev. Beatrice Alghali, Lead Pastor

Welcome to North Lake United Methodist Church, a place where the love of Christ is experienced and shared with all people. I bring you greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, "Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them." By this, he meant the Spirit, which those who believed in him were later to receive. Up until that time, the Spirit had not been given since Jesus had not yet been glorified (John 7:37–39).

The Holy Spirit helps us grow in Christlike beauty. Just like the living water flows into the flowers, we need to draw Christ’s living water into our lives. As the Spirit flows into us, we are changed and empowered to be more like Jesus, who obeyed and did the will of his Father, our God, by dying on the cross for our salvation. As a community of believers, the Spirit changes us to be vessels of love and compassion for all people. We are called to honor God as brothers and sisters. Therefore, I encourage us to taste that living water given to us by Jesus himself.

As we continue to draw that living water of the Holy Spirit into our hearts through meditation, Bible study, and prayer, we continue to blossom and grow in Christlike daily beauty.

Recently, North Lake UMC decided to remain a church with "Open hearts, Open minds, and Open doors" for all people of God. We are the UMC. Friends, we welcome all people. Join us anytime, and your hearts will be filled with love and care.

Rev. Beatrice Alghali grew up in Kenya and brings a unique perspective of a cross-cultural ministry to the people of NLUMC and the community. A faithful and fulfilling spiritual journey. Come join us to worship and drink from the rivers that flow from the Mountains of Kenya, in Africa, to the nine lakes surrounding Chelsea, Michigan, USA. Your cup will overflow with God’s goodness and blessings.

Grace and peace,

Rev. Beatrice Alghali, Lead Pastor
